Shipping policy
At Opal Leaf Co., many shipped plant orders are fulfilled through supplier-supported shipping. This allows us to offer a wider selection of houseplants and plant supplies while keeping our shop focused, organized, and intentional.
This policy applies to shipped orders placed through our website. Local pickup orders are handled under a separate local pickup policy.
Where We Ship
Shipped live plant orders are currently available only within the continental United States, where supplier-supported fulfillment is available.
We do not currently ship live plants to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or international addresses.
Order Processing
Most shipped orders are processed within 1–3 business days, depending on supplier availability, weather conditions, order volume, and carrier schedules.
Many plant orders are prepared quickly, but processing times are not guaranteed. Orders may be delayed when necessary to help protect live plants from extreme weather or unsafe shipping conditions.
Shipping Carriers and Transit Time
Shipped orders may be sent through USPS, FedEx, or another available carrier, depending on the order size, destination, and fulfillment method.
Typical transit times may range from approximately 2–6 business days after the order has shipped. Transit times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
Once a package is in the carrier’s possession, delivery timing may be affected by carrier delays, weather, holidays, missed delivery attempts, or other conditions outside our control.
Supplier-Supported Fulfillment
Some Opal Leaf Co. products may ship directly from a trusted supplier or wholesale partner.
Supplier-supported orders may arrive in neutral or unbranded packaging and may ship separately from other items in your order. If your order contains multiple products, items may arrive in more than one package.
Shipping Charges
Shipping charges are calculated at checkout based on the items ordered, shipping destination, package weight, and available fulfillment options.
Shipping charges may vary depending on whether the order contains live plants, pots, supplies, or multiple items.
Winter Weather and Heat Protection
Live plants are sensitive to cold temperatures.
Winter shipping protection may be required or recommended when temperatures in the destination area are expected to be below 50°F. This may include heat packs, insulation, upgraded shipping, or holding shipment until conditions improve.
If appropriate cold-weather protection is not selected or available and a plant is damaged due to cold temperatures, the order may not be eligible for refund or replacement.
During extreme cold, extreme heat, or severe weather, shipment may be delayed when possible to protect plant health.
Customer Delivery Responsibility
Please monitor your tracking information and bring your package inside as soon as possible after delivery.
Opal Leaf Co. is not responsible for plant damage caused by:
- Packages left outside after delivery
- Extreme heat or cold after delivery
- Missed delivery attempts
- Failure to retrieve the package promptly
- Incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses
- Packages returned to sender
- Refused deliveries
Address Accuracy
Please review your shipping address carefully before placing your order.
Make sure to include any apartment, unit, suite, building, or access information needed for delivery.

Address changes are not guaranteed once an order has been processed, packed, or assigned tracking.
Lost-in-Transit Packages
Packages lost in transit by the shipping carrier may not be covered under the live plant guarantee.
If tracking shows a possible issue, contact us promptly and we will help review the available tracking information. Refunds or replacements are not guaranteed for packages lost by the carrier.
Shipping Delays
Carrier delays can happen, especially during holidays, weather events, or high-volume shipping periods.
We are not responsible for carrier delays once an order has shipped, but we will do our best to help review order concerns when possible.
Local Pickup Orders
Local pickup orders are not shipped and are handled under a separate local pickup policy.
Pickup-only items may have different timing, hold, inspection, cancellation, and refund terms.
Local pickup is available by appointment in Mechanicsburg, PA. Exact pickup location and pickup instructions will be provided after your order is confirmed.
